The Kansas City Chiefs face a pivotal offseason as they work to rebuild their roster and return to the postseason. Meanwhile, their second-best player, Travis Kelce, also has an important offseason ahead.
Sooner or later, the world will find out if Kelce plans to return for another season or if he is seriously considering retirement. It’s not that he physically can’t do it anymore, as he just had a pretty incredible season, all things considered.
However, the question is whether he wants to keep playing, as his body has endured a beating over the years. Furthermore, he has expressed interest in pursuing other things outside of football.
On Wednesday, he may have found one of the things he could be doing a whole lot more of in his free time, especially now that he accomplished what he just did.
Kelce has an insane golf shot at the Waste Management Phoenix Open
The WM Phoenix Open is this week, but before it begins, there’s a pro-am where celebrities play exhibition matches. Kelce participated on the 16th hole, and in a closest-to-the-pin challenge, he placed his ball just feet from the hole on a Par 3, winning the Waste Management chain.
This is not Kelce’s first time doing a golf match like this publicly on TV. He did one with Patrick Mahomes, where the two of them went against the Golden State Warriors, at the time, guards Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson. That whole time, Kelce never hit a shot that good. In fact, Mahomes carried the two of them most of the time.
This time, though, Kelce delivered a beautiful shot. As the saying goes, when you hit that perfect shot, you’ll spend the rest of your golf life chasing it. If Kelce retires, we may see him on the course much more often.
Patrick Mahomes likes what he saw from Kelce
During the match, Mahomes tweeted some emojis at Kelce, and many fans who didn’t know Kelce was competing on Wednesday thought the tweet was about Kelce possibly returning for another season. Nope, Mahomes was just watching his guy on national TV light up the greens.
Mahomes later made sure to clarify that he was talking about golf, not the potential return. Even if Kelce does retire, we have to see the two of them back on the golf course again soon, in another two-man match against other celebrities.
