The Kansas City Chiefs and Travis Kelce are locked in for the 2026 NFL season after the 11-time Pro Bowler inked his new contract on March 23.

Kelce was all smiles as he signed his new three-year, $54.735 million contract that’s essentially a one-year, $12 million deal.

“Chiefs Kingdom, let’s go, baby!” Kelce shared in a video message. “It’s official. I’m excited for 2026, and just excited to put on a Chiefs uniform in front of you guys again. Let’s get Arrowhead rocking, baby!”

Amid Kelce’s decision to run it back for what’s likely his final season in the NFL, he’s also planning what’s expected to be the wedding of the century with fiancée Taylor Swift. ESPN’s Nate Taylor reported they plan to wed before training camp starts, which is at the end of July. Therefore, the window of time for their nuptials to take place is quite small.

Reports have swirled for months that the famous couple plans to marry on June 13 at the Ocean House in Watch Hill, Rhode Island. Another report emerged that Swift is upset details of their big day were leaked — however, it all may be the perfect smoke screen for their real wedding plans.

The future NFL Hall of Famer and Swift may not wait until June to wed, according to DeuxMoi. “Multiple sources say the couple’s wedding is not some far-off event, it’s moving quickly, with a timeline that appears to be accelerating behind the scenes,” the outlet reported.

“While nothing has been publicly confirmed, insiders point to a ceremony expected sooner rather than later. We’re also hearing invitations have already gone out. Not in a flashy, over-the-top way but quietly, and with very little information attached. Guests have allegedly been told to keep their schedules open, with final details expected to come much closer to the actual date.”

DeuxMoi added, “Despite a flood of online claims pointing to specific venues or destinations, there is still no confirmed site and that appears to be very intentional. In fact, some sources suggest even invited guests may not receive the exact location until closer to the event, a move designed to prevent leaks and maintain total privacy.”

To keep things private, not correcting false reports about their wedding day is the perfect move. Swift is no stranger to keeping large-scale events under wraps — she debuted an all-new section of the “Eras Tour” in Europe after surprising fans with the release of “The Tortured Poets Department” album in 2024.

An earlier wedding date would also track with a report regarding the couple’s honeymoon plans. According to The U.S. Sun, the 14-time Grammy winner and Kelce plan to take a three-week honeymoon through the Caribbean, Europe, and Asia. If they’re looking for a lengthy getaway, it needs to be early enough for Kelce to also have time to get in shape for training camp.

If anyone understands the need to schedule a wedding around career responsibilities, it’s Swift. In fact, the songwriter’s dedication to her craft helped inspire Kelce to return for another season. 

“We share the same love for what we do, and fortunately, we’ve had this desire since we were kids in our selective professions,” Kelce said on “The Pat McAfee Show” earlier this month.

“It’s amazing to see her keep going to the table, keep finding new things to write about, keep finding new melodies and, on top of that, still seeing her have that love and joy in what she does.”

“Of course, that’s motivating… Something like that definitely motivates me to say, ‘You know what, I’m not done, either.’ I’ve still got some ideas in the back of my mind and still got some juice left to play this game.”
