The Kansas City Chiefs are getting closer to the 2026 NFL draft, which is set for April 23 to 25 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The three-day event is set for Point State Park and Acrisure Stadium, and that’s where the Chiefs will round out their 2026-27 lineup.
One of the biggest questions surrounding Kansas City at the draft is who they’ll pick with their round one pick. Since the team usually has a good record, they usually don’t have a high pick, but this year, they’re going at No. 9.
On Saturday, March 28, the Chiefs took to social media to draw attention to one stunning college player. So, are they tipping off the NFL world to their first round draft pick?
Kansas City Chiefs Celebrate Blake Miller
The Chiefs shared footage of Clemson offensive tackle Blake Miller on social media on Saturday. In the post, they told followers to “keep an eye out” for the Clemson star in this year’s draft. So, it appears the front office is looking at him.
According to Miller’s official NFL draft profile, he’s the “ultimate iron man at right tackle with 54 career starts.”
“Miller has unusual lateral quickness and fluidity in space despite playing too upright,” his profile continues. On the downside, “his hands lack accuracy and command in both phases, but he can recover and make blocks with a finisher’s mindset.”
Moving to the brighter side, the player is “rarely beaten by rush games,” according to the league, “but he has his edges attacked because of his hand issues.” He’ll also “encounter difficulties at the next level without better pad level, core strength and cleaner technique.” The good news is that if he gets those areas in check, the NFL believes he can become a “solid” right tackle.
Kasnsa City Chiefs Also Looking at Tight Ends in Draft
On Wednesday, March 11, the Kansas City Chiefs officially announced that Travis Kelce would return to the team for the 2026-27 season, sharing a post on social media with a clip of him returning, noting, “Like he never left.”
But, the Chiefs are still looking at tight ends in the draft. In a Thursday, March 26 feature for Arrowhead Addict, Matt Conner states that the “Chiefs are spending time with some of the better tight end prospects in this year’s draft class.”
Conner points out that the Chiefs have been actively visiting with tight end prospects ahead of the draft, including Georgia’s Oscar Delp and N.C. State’s Justin Joly.
“For the Chiefs to be able to add a productive pass catcher at tight end while Kelce is still around would be a significant boost to his learning curve,” Conner noted.
Conner also states that it’s “possible that Kelce looks older and the rest of the position looks uninspired in ’26,” so these selections are a “good way for the offense to protect itself against those concerns while gaining upside for the long term.”
