On Sunday, the world watched a Super Bowl game between the Kansas City Ch—Sorry, I’m used to doing that now. The Seattle Seahawks and New England Patriots played each other in a very boring game.
This was the Chiefs’ year off, as some of the players would say. This is when they finally get their break. After playing a whole extra season in playoff games alone, the dynasty took the year off and expects to be back next season. No, scratch that, they will be back next season. At least, that’s what defensive tackle Chris Jones is saying.
“Took a year off, we will be back to it next year!” Jones wrote on Twitter.
Chiefs defensive tackle Chris Jones has a knack for predicting things
Let’s throw it back to an AFC Championship game where the Chiefs lost to the Cincinnati Bengals, who then went on to lose the Super Bowl to the Los Angeles Rams. During that Super Bowl, in which Jones watched from home, or anywhere not on the sidelines like he’s used to, he tweeted out something spectacular.
“We will be in it next year,” Jones wrote.
Jones missed two crucial sacks in that game and was very hard on himself. He worked hard in the offseason, as did the entire team, and they made that statement come true. However, this time they were beating the Philadelphia Eagles in Arizona.
There have been a handful of other times where Jones has predicted what would happen, too. In fact, it’s become his patented thing to predict things on social media and then manifest them. This time, he can do the same, although the Chiefs have a lot of work to do before they can.
KC will have free agency to get through, where they first have to make some moves to clear up money, and then they will have the 2026 NFL Draft, too. Either way, Jones believes in his team.
