Taylor Swift‘s mom, Andrea Swift, had a hand in writing her love story with Travis Kelce.

The proud mom of the superstar shared how she indeed played a part in supporting the beaming romance between the lovebirds. Andrea publicly notes how much of a joy her soon-to-be son-in-law is and how glad she is that the pair ot together.

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce began dating in July 2023 and have been spotted sharing sweet moments in public ever since. The lovers got engaged in August this year, with nuptials in sight for the first half of 2026.

Andrea let the cat out of the bag on Friday’s new “End of an Era” docuseries episodes. She shared that she actually nudged her daughter to pursue Kelce after his viral “New Heights” podcast episode aired.

She recalled that while surfing the internet at the time, she had seen news about his interest in her daughter. Her investigative spirit took over, and she reached out to her cousin, whom she considers an “expert” on the Missouri-based NFL team, to ask about Kelce.

Her findings revealed that the athlete was a nice guy who loved his mother dearly, and Andrea just had to arrange a meet-cute. Knowing her daughter and her non-athlete dating history, she thought, “How in the world am I gonna get her to meet him?”

Taylor recalled her mom calling, saying, “Hey, so I know you’re not gonna react well to this, but there’s a guy,” then proceeded to talk about his interest.

The pop star’s mom also noted how cute she thought the athlete looked and how she admired his character based on a sweet gesture he pulled at one of Taylor’s shows, per Page Six.

Last month, when the trailer for  Swift’s The End of an Era docuseries aired, Andrea was captured making a rare comment about her daughter’s fiancé. She was heard talking about him and how he affects Taylor’s life positively.

“Travis Kelce he brings a lot of happiness,” the music icon’s mom remarked in the brief clip, which was followed by a demonstration of that happiness. The “Love Story” singer was captured gleefully chatting with Kelce on the phone as they talked about work.

In between laughs, she joked with him, saying they basically do the same job, adding they both have teammates and coaches. “You’ve got Coach Reid, I’ve got my mom,” The Grammy Winner said.

Taylor definitely wrote Kelce’s name on her blank space when he sealed the deal. He got down on one knee in an intimate garden proposal, which they shared with the world. The pair seemingly captioned the photos of their beautiful moment, “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married.”

The “Anti-Hero” singer gushed about her engagement ring while appearing on “The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon.” She revealed that Kelce put in the work with the jeweler to customize the gorgeous ring.

The lovers have also been spotted sharing cute moments backstage on her Eras tour, and Taylor has been captured attending some of his games. At one where he scored his 83rd touchdown, the athlete celebrated by looking up at his fianceé, and doing a part of her “The Fate Of Ophelia” choreography.

The Music Star’s Mother Has Always Been A Supportive Parent

Taylor’s mom and her dad, Scott Swift, have since encouraged their daughter and her endeavors. ELLE shares how Taylor previously detailed her childhood, noting how even her name was chosen to ensure she does not face any form of gender discrimination in the world of business.

She detailed how she grew up on a Christmas tree farm in Wyomissing, Pennsylvania, which had limited singing opportunities. Despite this, they made sure to shuttle her to local gigs and karaoke nights. Eventually, they made the decision to move to Hendersonville, a suburb of Nashville, and to get some attention, the family started passing out tapes of Taylor singing karaoke.

She worked really hard as a young girl, trying to find her footing in the industry. “My mom waited in the car with my little brother while I knocked on doors up and down Music Row,” she shared.

After finally landing a record deal and making her debut, Andrea went on tour with her daughter to support teenage Taylor. When the pop star won her first Grammy Award for her album “Fearless,” she dedicated the award to her parents.

“This is for all those times that you said I could do whatever I wanted in life,” she said. “And my mom, you’re my best friend,” the singer said in her speech.

Shortly after the music icon announced her engagement, an old video clip emerged, going viral on the internet. In the throwback clip, recorded when she was still a teenager and an upcoming artist, she candidly shared her thoughts on marriage.

The Blast reported that Taylor seemed to have predicted the trajectory of her life right from her teenage years. In the interview, she told the host that she was not going to get married until she was 35.

She said music was her priority, and marriage was something she was going to do late in life. Ironically, she got engaged to Kelce when she was indeed 35.
