Why Isn’t Travis Kelce Playing in the Pro Bowl?
Kelce is currently in the offseason and facing a much bigger decision: whether to retire or return for the 2026–27 NFL season with the Kansas City Chiefs.
While he was believed to be healthy enough to play, the Chiefs announced that Kelce will skip the Pro Bowl Games in San Francisco. In his place, Dalton Kincaid of the Buffalo Bills was named to the AFC roster.
The move surprised some fans, given Kelce’s availability, but it aligns with his current focus on rest and long-term decisions rather than exhibition events.
Which Chiefs Players Are Participating?
Kansas City originally had multiple Pro Bowl selections, including Chris Jones, but Jones will also miss the event.
That leaves just two Chiefs players representing the team:
-
Creed Humphrey
-
Trey Smith
After learning of his selection earlier this season, Jones reflected on the honor:
“It doesn’t happen without those guys around me. I’m super grateful that my peers and the fans still consider me a Pro Bowler.”
